On the Origin of Ms. Megaton Man™:

"I needed a student character to talk to Stella [Starlight], who was going back to school and needed a student a year ahead of her who knew the ropes. I created an African-American girl, based on a waitress I had a crush on who worked at Union Street restaurant in Detroit in the early 1980s. I never had any intention of giving her Megapowers ... Clarissa, really, just took it from there, and as is obvious, I can hardly stop drawing her." - Don Simpson.
